Seeking Support For H.R. 2771 - Protecting HOME Act

Last year, Reps. Cathy McMorris Rodgers (R-Wash.) and Dave Loebsack (D-Iowa), introduced H.R. 2771, Protecting HOME Act of 2019, allowing for increased reimbursement rates for durable medical equipment and oxygen equipment and supplies in areas of the country where reimbursement has been slashed up to 50% over the years. This bill is still alive! We need to continue reaching out to our members of Congress asking for support. Click here to see a full list of current co-sponsors.

Earlier this summer, a letter with 101 congressional signatures was sent to HHS Secretary Alex Azar and CMS Administrator Seema Verma requesting for a delay to the bid program for one year or throughout the public health emergency (whichever is longer). The letter also includes that HHS and the Office of Management and Budget (OMB) support extending the blended rates in both Competitive Bid Areas (CBA’s) and non-competitive bid areas to maintain access and stability across all parts of the country.

After comparing the list of co-sponsors on the letter to HHS and CMS and H.R.2771, there are 55 members of Congress that signed on to the letter, but they have not signed on to H.R.2771. Congressional leaders who supported this letter should also be supporting H.R. 2771.

We ask that you reach out to your member of Congress today if they have not yet signed on to H.R. 2771, especially if they are one of the 55 representatives that signed the letter to CMS/HHS. You can view that list here.

It just takes a couple minutes to send a message to your member of Congress via vgmgov.com. Simply click here and enter your zip code. A message has already been put together for you. Please encourage others to do this as well.
