HHS Extends Compliance Deadline to 90 Days

Healthcare providers who received HHS relief payment initially had 30 days to sign an attestation form which signaled they were agreeing to the Terms and Conditions and were keeping the payment they received. That 30 day window to sign the attestation form was later extended to 45 days, and on May 22 HHS extended that window even further, now allowing providers 90 days from the date they received a payment to accept HHS Terms and Conditions or return the funds.

Instructions have been released by the DMACs related to the CARES Act non-rural zip code rate increase. Check out the MLN MM11784 article for details. The DMACs will do a mass adjustment, which means no resubmissions for suppliers! If you service patients in non-rural zip codes, you should have seen adjustments being made for claims with DOS in mid to late April.

When HHS first started distributing relief funds to providers throughout the country, they initially stated providers had 30 days to complete their attestation and agree to the terms and conditions of keeping the payments. HHS has now extended that attestation timeframe to 45 days, giving providers an additional 15 days to familiarize themselves with the terms and conditions associated with the Provider Relief Fund.
