During the 107th and 108th Congress, the HME Industry began to find its voice. Members of Congress began to understand that national competitive bidding (NCB) is not good for small business. While that battle continues, there remains a battle fought at the state level that is just as threatening: MEDICAID cuts.

To win both, we must get our beneficiaries motivated to let Congress and the State Legislators know that any cuts to DME / HME are bad policy for seniors and for America. We need the Beneficiary to assist us in convincing our local, state & national leaders that the DME/HME industry is a part of the solution, not a part of the problem in containing health care cost.

To get the beneficiary involved, the HME industry must begin a “Grassroots” campaign.

To assist all HME providers in beginning a local "grassroots" campaign, VGM has created a "Medicaid Grassroots" tri-fold. This brochure includes many tools to rally beneficiaries, families, caregivers and others to defeat the state cuts to Medicaid.
